How We Treat…

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

During pregnancy the body undergoes dramatic changes to accommodate the growing foetus. As your pregnancy progresses the increasing size of the abdomen will cause a shift in your body’s centre of gravity affecting structures around your low back and pelvis.

Our osteopaths will carefully select the most gentle and appropriate techniques to ensure the comfort of you and your growing baby.

Osteopaths can be of assistance for many common complaints associated with pregnancy and the post-natal period including :

  • Lower back pain and sciatica
  • Aching in the legs or feet
  • Nausea or heartburn due to the increased pressure on the stomach and diaphragm
  • Neck, shoulder or middle back pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Circulatory issues including swelling of the feet and hands
  • Postural and stretching advice
Children

Children

There are several problems that may interfere with the normal development of a child.

Osteopaths use various techniques to treat a wide range of conditions including :

  • Sporting injuries
  • Postural problems (including curvature of the spine)
  • Neck, back and shoulder pain associated with study posture and carrying heavy school bags
  • Growing pains (eg Osgood Schlatters)
  • Headaches
  • Pain and injuries arising from falls and contact sports
  • Walking difficulties (including hip, knee and foot pain)
Sports Injuries

Sports Injuries

Regardless of what level of sport you play, your osteopath can help prevent and treat many sporting injuries.  Restrictions to joint mobility and muscle flexibility can result in injury or prevent you from performing at your best.  Osteopaths can help get your body functioning optimally and prevent re-occurrence of your injury.
